How Do I Create and Edit a Line in the Workbook in Modmath 4.0?

The Line tool lets you draw horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines between cells — useful for separating sections, drawing angles, creating tables, or underlining parts of a problem.

Drawing a Line

• In the canvas toolbar, select the Draw Custom Shapes tool (the pencil icon).
• In the side tool panel, select the Draw Straight Lines tool (the line icon).
• Click and drag from one cell junction to another.
  • Junctions are the corner points where cells meet.
• Release to place the line.

The line appears between the two junctions you selected. If the line extends an existing line segment in the same direction, they merge automatically into a single longer line.

Removing a Line

1. In the canvas toolbar, switch to the Erase Drawing tool.
2. Drag finger/cursor over the line to erase. 

Tips

• Lines are great for underlining the bottom row of a vertical arithmetic problem — though Modmath also draws this line automatically when it detects an arithmetic expression.
• Use lines to create structured grids or worksheets on the canvas.
• Lines are saved in the workbook and included when you export a .mm file.
