How Do I Add or Delete Characters Using the Keypad in Modmath 4.0?

The Modmath 4.0 virtual keypad is your primary tool for entering numbers, operators, and math symbols. This article explains how to add and delete content using the keyboard.

Opening the Keypad

Click the Add Equations icon in the toolbar and tap any cell on the canvas to select it. The virtual keypad automatically opens at the bottom of the screen.

If the keypad is collapsed to its compact view, tap the expand icon on the left side of the keyboard toolbar to see the full symbol layout.

Typing Characters

Use the keypad to enter:

• Numbers — Digit keys 0–9 on the number pad
• Operators — +, −, ×, ÷, and = on the number pad
• Math symbols — ADV1, ADV2, and ADV3 tabs contain parentheses, trigonometry functions, degree symbol, Greek letters, and more
• Decimal point — The period key on the number pad (long tap to toggle to the comma)
• Comma — The comma key on the number pad (long tap to toggle to the decimal point)

Each key press adds a character to the currently selected cell. The content in the cell auto expands when needed (e.g. adding variables).

 

Deleting Characters

Use the Undo button on the number pad to undo your last action. This works on all content including numbers, operators, special characters (e.g. exponents) drawings, and graphs.
 

To clear an entire cell or multiple cells at once, switch to Erase Cells mode in the toolbar and click the cell or selected cells to delete (select cells first, then clear). 

You can also click and drag a marquee around the content you want to delete and then click the trash can icon to delete content.
 

Undo and Redo

UNDO and REDO buttons appear in the keypad toolbar — they are always visible whether the keypad is collapsed or fully expanded.

• UNDO reverses your last action (typing, deleting, moving, etc.)
• REDO reapplies an action you undid

Switching Between Cells

After entering content in one cell, click or tap another cell to move to it. The keyboard stays open and ready for input.

To close the keyboard, press Escape.
